CASA Book Club

Participation in the CASA Book counts as four hours of in-service training credit. Below is a list of upcoming dates and titles (click on the title for more information). A week before each book club meeting, a list of discussion questions will be available for consideration.

Wednesday, June 29, 11:45-1 p.m. The Glass Castle - Jeannette Walls Walls's bestselling memoir recounts her and her siblings' unconventional, poverty-stricken upbringing at the hands of their deeply dysfunctional, yet loving, parents.

Wednesday, July 27, 11:45-1 p.m. Another Place at the Table - Kathy Harrison Harrison's story of opening her home to foster children, three of whom she later adopted, is tender and inspiring. It is also filled with heartbreaking truths about abused and neglected children and a social service system that is overburdened and occasionally negligent itself.

Wednesday, August 31, 11:45-1 p.m. The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog - Bruce Perry and Maia Szalavitz Stories from a child psychologist’s notebook: what traumatized children can teach us about loss, love, and healing.
