CASA 2009 Run/Walk Raises over $2500CASA's 8th Annual Run/Walk was held Saturday, May 2 with the 5k run and one mile historic walking starting from Yund Park. Though a final number has not yet been totaled, the Run/Walk raised over $2500 for the local Helena CASA Program. Top fundraiser this year was Tiffany Smith, who received $175 in sponsors. The Lion's Club provided food and water for a lunch celebration held in Women's Park after the race was finished. S.A.V.E. foundation provided recycling bins to help make the event more earth-friendly, while the Humane Society brough dog treats and water bowls to make the event more pet-friendly. Many thanks go out to these organizations for their contributions to the event. CASA-Advocates for Kids Board member Tom Naegele MCed the prize ceremony and raffle awards. CASA, Kiwanis Club, and Child Protection Services Recognize Foster Parent MonthMay is Foster Parent Recognition Month and CASA-Advocates for Kids along with the Kiwanis Club and Child and Family Services are hosting a Foster Parent Luncheon.
