Thank You to Many

CASA – Advocates for Kids reached a milestone this November – ten full years of service to the local community.  While it is tempting to speak of the worthiness of our cause and the honorable work done by so many CASA volunteers, we are but one of the many players in the local child welfare system. It has been encouraging to be a part of this system for the past ten years.

The local community has been gifted with District Court Judges who place the interests of children at the forefront.  Our County Attorney’s Office, for many years, has made child protection a priority.  Peter Bovingdon serves as the attorney for most of the children brought under the Court’s protection and provides strong and active legal representation.  A committed and, often, under appreciated Child Protection staff goes the extra mile to make sure kids are safe.  There are many others playing important roles also – law enforcement, the medical community, schools, and an array of other service providers.

CASA, of course, is a player as well.  We are often referred to as the “child’s voice in the courtroom.”  On our ten year anniversary, we acknowledge that that voice might not be heard without the commitment and hard work of so many.  Thank you for everything you do to keep kids safe!

Our Recognition Luncheon was featured in the Helena IR on December 11th. Check it out here.
